Pick From Ahmedabad Venue and start for Adalaj Step Well (App. 18 Kms / 25 Minutes), which is a unique 'water building' in the village of Adalaj, The stepwell was built in 1499 by Muslim king Mohammed Begda for Queen Rani Roopba, wife of Veer Singh, the Vaghela chieftain. The step well is intricately carved and is five stories in depth. Such step wells were once integral to the semiarid regions of Gujarat as they provided basic water needs for drinking, washing and bathing. Then Proceed for Akshardham Swaminarayan Temple (App. 12 Kms /15 Minutes), The temple complex combines devotions, art, architecture, education, exhibitions and research at one place. The monument enshrining the 7-foot-high (2.1 m), gold-leafed Murti of Lord Swaminarayan is the focal point of the complex. The majestic, intricately carved stone structure stands amid sprawling gardens. Six thousand tons of pink sandstone was used in building the monument which is regarded as an architectural masterpiece. The structure measures 108 feet (33 m) in height, 240 feet (73 m) in length and 131 feet (40 m) in width. The temple is surrounded by The garden which is named Sahjanand Van is a unique blend of contemplative garden and children's park. There is a Water Show done in the evening named "Sat-Chit-Anand Water Show" which of 45- minute show depicts the story of Nachiketa from the Kathopanishad.
